Alan Babington-Smith has lived and worked in China for all this century.Alan, now 63, is Beijing-based Director of LMI-China (Shanghai) Inc.- the China Licensee for Leadership Management International Inc.LMI, which is based in USA, has provided personal development and leadership coaching worldwide for 50 years, and currently operates in 60 countries and 22 languages..Alan joined LMI-China in 2003, and has helped build the largest leadership coaching business in China, with a team of over 50 dedicated Chinese professionals, coaching over 1000 leaders a year in MNCs and Chinese organisations .Alan's first career was in finance. For 25 years he specialised in commercial banking, based mostly in UK, but including 3 years in Saudi Arabia managing the finances of a Saudi family, and 5 years regularly visiting Asia.During 10 years from 1990-2000, starting at EU in Brussels, he helped create several financial institutions in the new market economies in East Europe and Russia.He has worked in China for 10 years. During his first 3 years in China 2000-2003, he created 3 Credit Guarantee Funds, which have issued Guarantees of over US$1.5bn to nearly 10,000 SMEs.Alan has a Masters Degree from Cambridge University UK in History and Economics.He is Chairman of the Training and Development Forum at the AMCHAM Beijing, and is a past Member of Exco of BritCham.He helps run The International Festival Chorus and Peking Sinfonietta which over 8 years have set the standard of musical education and performance in Beijing.He speaks several languages, including Mandarin, Russian and French, and has a wide range of interests- intellectual, physical and emotional.
