TEDxGlastonbury - Izzi Greenberg - TED Wish One Laptop Per Child

Izzi Greenberg is the Executive Director of the North End Action Team in Middletown, CT, where she has worked for the last 10 years. Through grassroots community organizing, leadership development, youth and family programs and issue-by-issue campaigns, NEAT is raising the quality of life for the under served residents of Middletown's North End. In her tenure, she has developed and implemented programs such as the North End Kids Market/North End Farmers' Market, the North End Children's Project/One Laptop Per Child, foreclosure intervention and first-time homeownership, and the youth-based hiking and daVinci Clubs. She is active in the Middletown community where she serves as a trustee of the Russell Library and a commissioner on the Middletown Housing Authority. She lives in the North End neighborhood with her husband and two children. About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)
