The hope we saw: Anthony Shadid @ TEDxOKC

Anthony Shadid, a New York Times reporter who died last week while covering the conflict in Syria, devoted his life to providing a voice for Arabs seeking a better Middle East. In this poignant talk given just after his return from Libya, he explains how the Arab Spring filled him with hope for the first time.? In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxOKC, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxOKC event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
