Seth Linden is an educator and the CEO of Tutorpedia, a one-on-one tutoring company based in San Francisco as well as establishing a nonprofit tutoring organization, Tutorpedia Foundation, whose mission is to provide high-quality, personalized tutoring to underserved students. Over the years, Seth's company has expanded to include tutors for all subjects and all needs, addressing students at all levels -- elementary school, middle school, high school, and college. Seth believes that learning needs to be more real, relevant, and rigorous, with a singular focus on personal relationships. Seth's TEDxMonterey talk focused on the innovation of creating a class of one for all students in the United States. His hybrid model approach cuts the cost of traditional tutoring and thus opens much needed services to new populations of underserved students. This year's TEDxMonterey inspired and engaged the Monterey community with fascinating leaders, inventors, scientists, artists, community activists and global dreamers. With an all star line up of inspirational speakers the Monterey Institute of International Studies hosted the event on April 15th, 2011 and enjoyed participation from over 400 people both in person and online. The theme of this year's TEDxMonterey was Cultivating Innovation, which dazzled the audience through the themes of question, engage and transform. About TEDx, x = independently organized event??In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
