TEDxPalermo - Silvia Paoli - Amuse The Fashion Muse

The TEDxPalermo Talk by Silvia Paoli was in late afternoon of April30th. The location due to bad weather was changed at the very last minute and studio427 was welcoming our day. Silvia Paoli was born in Pisa (but Livorno is in her soul), lived in Milan for 15 years, where she worked as a journalist for major fashion and women magazines (Marie Claire, D-La Repubblica delle Donne, and Vanity Fair as fashion news editor). After 10 years of experience in this field, has chosen the path of a free-lance writer to develop new personal projects including a book titled Lost in Fashion (Ed. Baldini Castoldi Dalai, released in 2009) and, after an experience of a year as a web editor for the online magazine Espresso, the creation of a web-tv dedicated to fashion, just called www.lostinfashion.it, on which she keeps a personal comment/diary blog on the fashion world. In 2010 www.lostinfashion.it was the official web tv of Pitti Uomo fair (one of the world leading events) and during its two years of life has created many original web formats about fashion and surroundings. Meanwhile Silvia Paoli holds a steady column on the weekly magazine Vanity Fair-Conde Nast, for which she regularly writes, and on the magazine Casamica-RCS (Last Page). She attends as a speaker and trend expert in the trade press conference, she works as a guest blogger in multimedia projects (Benetton, It's My Time), and she is studying several cross media projects about fashion. In the spirit of "ideas worth spreading", TED has created a program called TEDx, of local events, organized independently, that bring people together to share an experience similar to the one you live with TED. The TED Conference provides general guidance for all the TEDx events, but local events are made independently.
