Dr. Jennifer Golbeck, Professor of Information Studies, U.M.D. | Jennifer Golbeck is an Assistant Professor in the College of Information Studies at the University of Maryland, College Park and co-director of the Human-Computer Interaction Lab. She studies social networks, recommender systems, and how to use social relationships to improve the way people interact with information. She discussed the Internet and Pets at TEDxGeorgetown on March 23rd, 2010 (www.tedxgeorgetown.com).About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.
