TEDxDuke - Zack Abzug on The Brain as the Ultimate "Personal" Computer

ZACK ABZUGZachary Abzug will be graduating from Duke in May 2011 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering. He is primarily interested in the mechanisms behind the ability of the mammalian cortex to process large amounts of information at a high efficiency. He is a Pratt Undergraduate Engineering Research Fellow, as well as a member of Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society. Next year, Zachary will begin the pursuit of a PhD in Biomedical Engineering, with a concentration in Neural Engineering.About TEDxTEDx was created in the spirit of TED's mission, "ideas worth spreading." The program is designed to give communities, organizations and individuals the opportunity to stimulate dialogue through TED-like experiences at the local level.At TEDx events, a screening of TEDTalks videos -- or a combination of live presenters and TEDTalks videos -- sparks deep conversation and connections. TEDx events are fully planned and coordinated independently, on a community-by-community basis.
