DANIEL WONGDaniel was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, and he lived in Hong Kong from age two through five. After living in Hong Kong he moved to Singapore where he currently resides. Daniel spent two years in the Singapore army, where he served as a battalion manpower officer. He was responsible for the operational readiness of his infantry battalion, and he currently holds the rank of 1st Lieutenant. Daniel also enjoys writing. His first book, "How to Become a Happy Student" published by Morgan James Publishing, is set to hit bookstores by early 2012. Daniel is a senior majoring in mechanical engineering and economics.About TEDxTEDx was created in the spirit of TED's mission, "ideas worth spreading." The program is designed to give communities, organizations and individuals the opportunity to stimulate dialogue through TED-like experiences at the local level.At TEDx events, a screening of TEDTalks videos -- or a combination of live presenters and TEDTalks videos -- sparks deep conversation and connections. TEDx events are fully planned and coordinated independently, on a community-by-community basis.
