TEDxVancouver - Nazanin Afshin-Jam - Voice for the Voiceless

For as long as she can remember, Nazanin Afshin-Jam has had people tell her what she couldn't do, and then she did it anyway. Sharing the story of a personal mission to save a teenage girl from death row in Iran, she demonstrates that the power of the individual is stronger than we are commonly led to believe, and urges each of us to stand up for those whose voices are smothered under ruthless authoritarian regimes. About TEDx, x=independently organize event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self- organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x=independently organized TED event.
