TEDxPhoenix 2010 Bob Grossfeld - Arizona Guardian

Bob Grossfeld saved journalism and a few trees along the way when he created the Arizona Guardian, an online news site that covers state politics as closely as any of its competitors. He took a fresh approach, following the Costanza model. George Costanza theory states 'If every instinct you have is wrong, if you do the other thing it must be right'. So he took the approach that if we have fun and do it right, success will come. The big idea and big success of the Arizona Guardian is to 'lose the paper, keep the reporters, and be independent.' TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxPhoenix, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxPhoenix event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
