TEDxPhoenix 2010 Eric Torres
Eric Torres is the creator of the fictional world of Rynaga (pronounced rin-ah-gah). Rynaga is an ongoing design project that explores the use of self-imposed limitations, iconography and story-telling, and has even been featured on Wired.com. Eric pushes the message that we need to expend greater energy creating content, rather than just consuming it. Right now we are exposed to so much content, even here at TEDxPhoenix 2010, that provides value in our lives, yet we need to do more. TEDxPhoenix wants to you to be inspired by these talks to create change in your world, rather than just consume the information we hear today. Eric Torres speaks to the heart of the TEDx community when he says "the act of creation adds real meaning in our lives." TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxPhoenix, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxPhoenix event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
