TEDxTulsa - Connie McFarland - A Character Study of Community

Connie McFarland - TEDxTulsa Connie McFarland is president of McFarland Architects P.C. Founded in 1988. Connie's practice is the realization of her vision that design can inspire community. From health care to higher eduction and civic to commercial design, Connie believes the built environment can become a positive catalyst for providing care, exchanging ideas, governing effectively and interacting personally and commercially. Connie is a fellow of the American Institute of Architects and a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Architects. She is on the board of the Oklahoma Center for Healthcare Improveament and is board president of Resonance Center for Women Inc., a Tulsa-based support group helping female ex-offenders rebuild their lives. TED is a small nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design. Since then its scope has become ever broader. Along with two annual conferences -- the TED Conference in Long Beach and Palm Springs each spring, and the TEDGlobal conference in Oxford UK each summer -- TED includes the award-winning TEDTalks video site, the Open Translation Project and Open TV Project, the inspiring TED Fellows and TEDx programs, and the annual TED Prize.
