David Bell is a registered professional engineer focusing on renewable and alternative energy for the built environment at GMB Architecture + Engineering. Educated at Calvin College, David works with architects to produce sustainable buildings through improved environmental, human, and cultural performance. David is a LEED Accredited Professional, a Certified Geoexchange Designer, and a Certified Greenhouse Gas Inventory Quantifier. David and his family live on Grand Rapids' urban west side where they are active in community development efforts, their church, and urban farming and food systems. http://www.tedxgrandvalley.com About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.
