TEDxSF - Youth Rock the Rebuild - Cover of Mad World
Can Rock and Roll heal the world? At the end of January 2010, as a response to the Haiti earthquake, 40 teen musicians who wanted to help came together in less than 10 days, played to a sold out crowd and on the streets of downtown Mill Valley, and raised over $11,000 for Doctors without Borders. The theme of this concert was 3Save Lives." The young musicians did just that. Allover the country, hundreds of teenagers had the same idea - as "Help Haiti" concerts by students sprouted up everywhere! The second concert was May 30 in the plaza in downtown Mill Valley. Organized by students, ten groups comprised of youth street musicians played around town, and 15 bands played in the plaza. Over $28,000 was raised for Architecture for Humanity (http://architectureforhumanity.org), who have, through a global network of building professionals, brought design, construction and development services to communities in need. event video by: http://repertoireproductions.com/
