TEDxHomer - Mark Terry - The Antarctica Challenge

A documentarian for more than 20 years, Mark Terry reveals little known secrets of changing climate as witnessed from deep down under affecting eco-systems and, by extension, the world. "Of all the canaries in the climate coal mine, the polar regions and the mountain glaciers are singing the hardest and the loudest," said Achim Steiner, executive director of the UN Environment Programme. Mark devotes himself to northern research programs and is now one of only 166 Canadian's of the prestigious Explorer's Club, created The Antarctica Challenge. About TEDx In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)
