Brian Williams discusses the difference service with passion makes locally, nationally and how service agencies can respond in the face of disaster. Brian N. Williams is Hands On Nashville's (http://www.hon.org) Executive Director; president of VOAD, which stands for Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster; and co-chair of the volunteer committee serving Middle Tennessee's Long-Term Recovery Committee, which coordinates service agencies' long-term flood response. Brian is at the center of the dialogue about how service agencies can respond in the face of a disaster -- locally and nationally. In July, he accepted the George W. Romney Excellence Award at the National Conference on Volunteering and Service, acknowledging HON as HandsOn Network's outstanding affiliate for 2010.
