TEDxUVM - Christopher Koliba - Who is Accountable - 07/19/10

Christopher Koliba is the Co-Director of the Master of Public Administration Degree Program and an Assistant Professor in the Community Development and Applied Economics Department at the University of Vermont. Today, Dr. Koliba will ask the question of who is accountable for ensuring that future generations will have healthy, resilient social an natural systems to live in. Drawing on recent examples such as the flooding in New Orleans, the gulf oil spill, and the financial crisis and the recent Gulf oil split Dr. Koliba will introduce a framework of thinking about who is accountable to whom within the context of democracies and markets. About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
