In fact he argues in his talk that he finds more utility out of life when he does not own—but rents. He believes those in the US, especially in the area of play, are finding different and better ways to enjoy life not owning. In the final analysis, he believes that laws should not support ownership and that competition should be encouraged. Sam Lessin is the founder and CEO of drop.io, a rich media file-sharing company. He also started the Y+30, a popular monthly discussion group where industry experts lead talks on what the world might look like in 30 years. About TEDx, x=independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self- organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x=independently organized TED event.
