TEDxCardiff - Robert Simpson - The Hidden Universe
Robert Simpson is an astrophysicist currently working at Cardiff University. He runs the popular astronomy blog Orbiting Frog, where he not only shares news but also develops online astronomy tools and websites. In 2008 he created a conference series called '.Astronomy' which explores the connections between network technologies and astronomical research. Robert has been communicating science and astronomy to the public for many years, and is now concluding his PhD in star formation. He likes to show people how small but special they really are, and why the Universe is so much bigger and more complicated than anyone ever imagined! About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
