TEDxSydney - Michael Cathcart - Australian History: Land, Water, Alienation & Belonging

Michael Cathcart is a writer, broadcaster and historian. His latest book is the The Water Dreamers: The Remarkable History of Our Dry Continent (Text, August 2009). It tells the story of how settler Australians attempted to transform this dry continent and how it, in turn, changed them. It is, he says, "a story of how we learned to belong." ------------------- TEDxSydney 2010 was organised by General Thinking and took place on Saturday 22 May 2010 at CarriageWorks. Almost 2,000 people enjoyed the day live, over 700 in the theatre and the rest via big screen simulcast in The Forum. Thousands more watched the lives webstream. It was a grand day.
