TEDxWorldBankGroup - Nancy Roman - Agriculture

Nancy Roman, the Director of Public Policy, Communications and Private Partnerships of the UN World Food Programme (WFP), spoke about agriculture, hunger and innovative ways to food production at the first TEDxWorldbankGroup event in Washington on April 23, 2010. As head of private sector partnerships, she has more than quintupled funds raised from the private sector and from the general public over two years. Her team has raised hundreds of millions of dollars for hunger and has spearheaded partnerships with Fortune 500 food companies to tackle hunger and malnutrition and to bring innovative solutions to the challenge of providing proper nutrition for young children. About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
