Judy Wapp An accomplished visual artist and writer, Judy has been a resident of Nelson since 1971. Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota Judy attended the University of Wisconsin and earned a BA in Fine Arts at the University of Minnesota. During the 1960's she attended the Arts Student League in New York City and found it to be a marvelous time to be there. Judy has been a recipient of a McDowell fellowship for painting and spent a year in Europe working and travelling, mainly in Ibiza Spain. For the past few decades, Judy's artistic has focus has been mainly on collage and she is now working on a graphic memoir. As well, she is a member of the Phoenix writing group. Judy is very involved with the local Kootenay Co-op Radio (CJLY 93.5 FM) and has been since they first went on air. She enjoys co-hosting a bi-weekly jazz show. About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
