TEDxAshokaU - David Bornstein - 2/19/10

David Bornstein specializes in writing about social innovation. His newest book, Social Entrepreneurship: What Everyone Needs to Know (written with Susan Davis), offers an overview of the field and explores where it may be heading. It will be published in April, 2010. He is also the author of How to Change the World: Social Entrepreneurs and the Power of New Ideas, which was describe by The New York Times as must reading for anyone who cares about building a more equitable and stable world and a bible in its field. The book, which has been published in 20 languages, chronicles and analyzes the work of social innovators who are successfully addressing social problems at scale in several countries. In March, David will launch Dowser.org, a site dedicated to covering news and ideas from the world of social innovation. About TEDx, x=independently organize event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self- organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x=independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
