The Virtual Virtuosos is an experimental project which aims to stretch the limits of commonly available technology to facilitate artistic collaboration. For TEDxWarsaw http://tedxwarsaw.com the Virtuosos comprised Krzysztof Scieranski (bass) playing live on stage in Warsaw and, playing via a broadband connection, Paul Wertico (drums) at Roosevelt University in Chicago and Tom Ludvigson (keyboards) at MAINZ in Auckland. The experiment was a success, given the severe limitations of the medium, although the remote players' connection deteriorated during the performance and Krzysztof played a solo finale. The music was accompanied by a photographic projection of panoramic images by Ralph Talmont. More details about this project are available on Ralph's blog here: http://talmont.com/blog/?p=131 About TEDx, x=independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events which bring people together to share a TED-like experience.
