Determined to live a more sustainable life- Peter Ormond is an engineer, environmental consultant and creative activist within Greater Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. A regular attendee at the United Nations climate change negotiations, he emphasizes the links between actions today, impacts tomorrow, and the need to step onto less trodden paths that lead to sustainability. Besides coaching organizations to Green all aspects of their operations, Peter installs solar hot water systems, and teaches a Renewable Energy Course at Mohawk College . Peter also produces a weekly radio show Green Sense on McMasters radio station, CFMU, and offers weekly green tips with the local Cable 14 show Hamilton Life. Currently Peter is focusing on two books: the first relates to Canadian Heroes, and the second involves creative short stories for a soon-to-be-released raw-food cookbook. TEDx, x=independently organize event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self- organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x=independently organized TED event.
