Hacking and Ethics with Joe Menn
Reuters reporter Joe Menn, author of "Fatal System Error," talks with Markkula Center Campus Ethics Director David DeCosse about hacking and ethics. Menn proposes that views of ethics differ between countries, using the example of Russian attitudes to crime. He also explores the use of hacking to achieve political ends, for example the worm used--probably by Israel or the United States--to attack centrifuges in Iran's nuclear program. In addition, he discusses hacktivism, the use of hacking by groups like Wikileaks and Anonymous to accomplish political ends. Finally, he looks at the issue of privacy.
