At A Glance

The GCFLearnFree Literacy Project goal of the GCF Reading Program is to help adults at all levels become more proficient readers. This visual dictionary uses short video clips to explore the most common words in the English language. Learners see and hear words used in a variety of situations, from the very serious to laugh out loud funny. Particularly useful for visual and auditory learners.Learners will be able to learn and practice reading the top 1,000 most frequency used words in the English language.The lessons will be self-paced and self-directed so that learners can choose to focus on the areas that are most important to them. The Literacy Project content is based on information from the National Institute for Literacy study, Applying Research in Reading Instruction for Adults as well as The Reading Teachers Book of Lists by Dr. Edward Fry and Dr. Jacqueline Kress.
