Tips for Mounting a Ceiling Fan

Installing a ceiling fan can add style to a home, and also keep it cool at the same time. Fans come in variety of mounting styles, including flushmount, for low ceilings, downrod and angled downrod, for high ceilings and those with angles. For maximum cooling, your fan blades should be 7 to 8 feet from the floor. For low ceilings, you'll need to choose a flushmount fan that hugs the ceiling. For ceilings 9 feet of taller, use a downrod to lower the fan to the proper height.
