For the detailed directions for this DIY coffee table project, go to http://www.lowescreativeideas.com/doublecoffeetable. Give your coffee table a pop of personality with this really easy DIY technique that doesn't take an ounce of artistic ability! Let Lowe's cut some acrylic sheet to size, and then print off your pattern to match. Tape it to the acrylic, with the pattern facing down. Next flip the acrylic over, and trace the pattern using an artists brush. Don't worry about making perfect lines, you want this to look really organic. Using white acrylic paint can give a kind of 'etched' look to the project, but if you wanted to experiment with a bold color, that could look really cool too. When you're done, flip the painted side down, so your pattern is protected. Then to get the 'floating effect' install the acrylic using steel spacers and washers. Fast, easy and fabulous.
