How to Assemble a Husqvarna String Trimmer

Learn how to assemble your Husqvarna string trimmer by following the step-by-step assembly instructions in this video. To begin assembling your string trimmer, position the handle on the upper shaft. The handle must be mounted between the two arrows on the shaft. Fit the screw, securing plate and wingnut together. Tighten the wingnut. To begin assembly of the two piece shaft, start by loosening the coupling by turning the knob and removing the cardboard tube. Position the locking release button of the attachment into the guide recess o the coupling. Push the attachment into the coupling until the locking release button snaps into the primary locking hole. Before using the unit, tighten the knob securely. Fit the trimmer guard, for use with the trimmer head. Hook the trimmer guard onto the fitting on the shaft, and secure it with the bolt. Screw on the trimmer head. Notice you will turn it counterclockwise to install. This will seem backwards. Straight shaft trimmers have left handed threads on the trimmer head. This means you will turn in the opposite direction to tighten and loosen than you would if you had right hand threads. Insert the wrench into the hole in the gear housing. Rotate the head until you feel the wrench drop into place, locking the shaft. Continue turning the head until fully tightened. Remove the wrench. Now your string trimmer is assembled.
