How to Convert to the Troy-Bilt SpeedLock and Install New Line

http://www.lowes.com The SpeedLock cutting head is a round black reel with two wavy edges and a 1 ? inch knob in the center. This replaces the inner reel of a traditional bump head to allow for faster loading. To convert to the SpeedLock cutting head, unscrew the bump knob of the bump head counterclockwise and remove the inner wheel and spring. Place the SpeedLock onto the shaft of the outer spool, aligning the arrow with the eyelets. Place the spring over the shaft and into the SpeedLock. Hold the outer spool in place and put the bump knob back on. Push down to tighten, compressing the spring. You can switch back to the traditional bump head at any time. To install new line in the SpeedLock, make sure the arrows are aligned with the eyelets on the outer spool. Insert a piece of 8 inch, precut, .105 inch string into the eyelet and feed the line through the head into the SpeedLock. Pull the line through so that both ends are equal lengths. Now pull the SpeedLock reel away from the outer spool and twist it clockwise until it stops. Release the SpeedLock so it snaps into place. Find Troy-Bilt string trimmers at http://www.lowes.com
