Fold the wingtips behind the chicken's back. Place the chicken, breast side up over indirect medium heat. Close the lid and grill for 1 1/4 - 1 1/2 hours. Open the lid and check to see if the chicken is done. Place a meat thermometer in thickest part of the thigh, not touching the bone. The thermometer should read 175 degrees Fahrenheit. If you don't have a thermometer, cut between the drumstick and the thigh. The meat should no longer be pink near the bone.
