How to Build a Clothes Hamper, Part 4: Finish & Assembly

In Part 4 of this video series, the Lowe's Shop Class host, Keith Flippen, shows how to finish and assemble all the pieces for a complete wooden clothes hamper. For this particular project, you should finish the pieces first before assembling. You will begin by filling in any holes, sanding down the wood and applying a stain. Follow up with 2 coats of polyurethane. The last step to this laundry hamper project is to assemble everything together. First, you will add in the lath constructions. Put in a piece of filler to the rabbits, place in the lath assemblies and then attach with brads. Do the same for the other 2 lath assemblies. Finally, use the specified hardware to attach the lid to the hinge board, following the manufacturer's instructions. Now your clothes hamper should be ready to be used and put on display!
