How to Build a Deck Storage Box Part 2: Add Cladding and Trim

In this video we will be adding an attractive cladding and some trim to help form the top of the box. Before you begin, you will need to measure your box so you can cut your cladding and trim cladding to length. Once measured, cut all boards on the miter saw. Cut to length and attach them. Start in the center and work your way out. Take your time. Remember this is the most visible part of your box, so made sure everything is attached correctly. If the cladding does not measure to size once you get to the legs, cut to size. Once all cladding is cut and flush with the top, glue and nail to the box. The next step is to install some trim. Cut to width and length and attach with glue and nails. Attach and cut the side ledges using a jig saw. Then all 3 sides get pocket holes. Glue and nail into place. Finally, add nosing along the edge to add a lip. Cut all the pieces to length on the miter saw. Attach with glue and nails, and we're almost done!
