James Kalm has known Rodney Dickson, a quintessential part of the Williamsburg art scene, for a long time. So it wasn't unexpected that friends should recommend he drop in to see this impressive exhibition. However, only after receiving requests from the Kalm Report's worldwide network of painting aficionados did it become an imperative. Dickson presents two years of work, and displays examples of some of the most heavily pigmented oil paintings currently being produced in New York. A luminescent quality is achieved through a build up of light emitting color, relating this work to the glow of classic artists like Rembrandt and van Gogh. A musical introduction was captured from Blue Haze Over New York.
