Operation QLD Flood Assist: Air Force personnel making significant contribution to the cleanup

The QLD flood of 2010/2011 has been among the worst natural disasters to occur in QLD since the 1974 floods. These floods are arguably among the worst natural disasters in Australia and have caused loss of life, destruction of property and significant economic loss. In conjunction with EMQ, other State and Federal bodies, the ADF has been tasked to support flood affected areas of QLD. While JTF 637 is the ADF's combined task force in command of all ADF assigned forces in QLD, Air Force is making an independent (of JTF 637) and significant contribution to support the QLD State Government and communities affected by the floods. Air Force personnel, at RAAF AMB, are making a significant contribution as they directly support Ipswich and surrounding area communities with their clean up activities as homes, business and townships are returned to normal. RAAF AMB's commitment to support local communities affected by the flood is an integral and ongoing part of its community engagement as directed by CAF.
