2009 represented another milestone year for Air Lift Group (ALG), which is responsible for providing air mobility to the Australian Defence Force. The venerable DHC-4 Caribou was retired after 45 years of service to the nation, while the C-130 Hercules fleet continued the type's half a century legacy with Air Force. Busy operational tasking for the Challengers, Boeing Business Jets, and C-17A Globemasters sent them across Australia and the globe, while the KC-30A MRTT continued its flight testing program in Europe with Airbus.
