http://bit.ly/eTrd3Y The Basile Cancer Institute of the American University of Beirut, King Hussein Cancer Center and MD Anderson came together to hold a joint cancer conference focused on breast and gynecological malignancies in Beirut, Lebanon. The two-and-a-half day program featured speakers from all three institutions, and addressed these disease from the point of view of surgical, medical and radiation oncology. Debate sessions highlighted current controversies over the use of anthracyclines as adjuvant chemotherapy for breast cancer and the use of HPV vaccines to prevent cervical cancer. The meeting was attended by over 150 physicians and scientists. It is the first of a series, with next year's conference to focus on hematological malignancies, and to be hosted by KHCC in Amman, Jordan.
