Tex Ritter sings commercial for AMC cars in late 1972

Tex Ritter was a well-known country music star. He sang the opening song for the 1952 movie High Noon, for example. By the time this commercial was made, he was at the end of his career and died a little more than a year after it aired. American Motors was an amalgam of Nash, Hudson, and other smaller car manufacturers which by the 1970s was struggling to compete with the Big-3. Eventually, it was absorbed by Chrysler, whose Jeep line is a remnant of the acquisition.
