8.1.1 Define acids and bases according to the Brønsted-Lowry and Lewis theories IB Chemistry SL

Br?nsted--Lowry acids donate protons to other chemicals , whilst Br?nsted--Lowry bases receive protons. (A hydrogen atom that has lost its electron is a proton = H+). Lewis decided to define acids as electron pair acceptors and bases as electron pair donors. FUN non --IB need facts: Lewis was a genius and a jerk -- so no Nobel prize for him. He may have killed himself with HCN (draw the Lewis structure!). Ironically you cannot draw the Lewis structure of NO, nitrogen monoxide).
