1.5.2 Solve Problems Using Concentration, Amount of Solute and Volume of Solution IB Chemistry SL

CONCENTRATION = MOLE/VOLUME MOLE = number of moles of solute (what you are dissolving into the solvent). VOLUME = total volume of the solvent. In IB concentration is measured in mol/dm3 or mol dm-3 or M or Molar, (nothing to do with teeth). In order to use these units you must ensure the volume is in dm3 (the same as Liters). You may need to convert say ml into dm3 (1000ml = 1dm3=1L)
