Edith Lederer on Missed Stories in the Vietnam War

Edith Lederer joins The Associated Press in 1966. When she's sent to Saigon in 1972, Lederer becomes the AP's first female resident correspondent in Vietnam. After nine months there, she's sent to Tel Aviv, Israel to cover the 1973 Arab-Israeli War. In 1980, Lederer is assigned to Kabul to report on the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. She also covers the 1991 Persian Gulf War.
