In recent years, state and major urban area governments have established fusion centers to enhance intelligence and information sharing within their jurisdictions and with departments and agencies at the federal level. Federal stakeholders, like the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Justice, view fusion centers as important tools in domestic counterterrorism efforts and have provided both financial and personnel support to these state and local offices. Despite the rapid growth of fusion centers, which now number 72 nationwide, they still face a number of challenges. Please join us for a conference to discuss these and other issues.
