Robert Graham (1938-2008) was a California sculptor most identified with the resurgence of realism in the mid 1970s. This group of works, some fabricated while the artists was still a student at the San Francisco Art Institute, reveals Graham's comingling of Pop inspired miniature figures with Minimalist and environmental volumes. Despite his masterly creation of tiny, highly detailed figures, some of these works present empty idealized spaces that function as architectural sketches for conceptual zones.
