Joan Thorne Recent Paintings at SIDESHOW GALLERY
Joan Thorne has been a force in the New York painting community for decades. This is her first local show in several years. Ken Johnson stated the following in his November 25, 2010, New York Times review of this show. "Ms. Thorne's new, exuberantly brushy, fruit- and candy-colored canvases fit right in with the permissive pluralism of painting today. Her works sometimes veer close to the merely decorative, but at their best they convey an infectious joy."
