What is the status of the 150,000 reservists who have been called into the armed forces? He is in a serious mood as he takes note of rumors that they will serve more than a year of duty. GLOBE GIRDLER: - CHIMP MAKES EARTH ORBIT: The United States space effort takes a giant step as scientists and technicians orbit ENOS, a 5 ? year-old Chimpanzee around the earth. His three orbits are cut to two when his cabin heats up - something an astronaut could have corrected - but ENOS suffers no ill effects in the flight that is a curtain-raiser to a manned orbital flight. PREPARE FOR UNDERGROUND NUCLEAR TEST: All is nearly ready for Project Gnome, an underground nuclear test, a quarter of a mile deep near Carlsbad, New Mexico.
