BABIES DAY AT ROYAL PALACE: At the new Togu Palace in Tokyo, it's Babies Day, with 1-year-old Prince Hiro playing host to a dozen winners of a baby health contest - all happily romping together. It's the first official reception for the Emperor's grandson. TWENTY-FIVE YEARS AGO DR. "JAFSIE" CONDON, controversial figure of the Lindberg kidnapping case, returns from vacation on the eve of the execution of the convicted kidnapper and child murderer, BRUNO RICHARD HAUPTMANN, who goes to his doom in New Jersey State Prison. On vacation, PRESIDENT ROOSEVELT suns himself on the Chief Executive's yacht and plays host to the Governor of the Bahamas. A fashion parade of EASTER HATS shows nostalgia was just as big then as now. Outside St. Patrick's, the Easter Parade jams 5th Avenue in New York with a throng of fashion plates, and one who outshines them all.
