S. business in Panama itself and tear down the flag outside the Embassy. POPE JOHN MARKS ANNIVERSARY Rites of high splendor and solemnity mark the first anniversary of the Coronation of Pope John XXIII. Twenty-thousand in St. Peter's Basilica receive the apostolic blessing. MIDGET POWER SCOOTER The closest yet to vest-pocket transportation is an Illinois student's 12-pound power scooter. With roller-skate wheels and a model airplane motor, it put-puts him to and from the campus at a miserly 100-miles per gallon. NATIONAL HORSE SHOW In New York City, the 70th annual National Horse Show with the traditional display of precision horsemanship by the Royal Canadian Mounties, and breath-taking equestrian competition between Canada and the U.S. SOUTHERN CAL DOWNS CALIFORNIA, 14-7 Unbeaten and untied Southern Cal meets California at Berkeley, and the mighty Trojans have to rally in the fourth quarter to preserve their skein.
