Atlantis flips one last time for inspection

On July 10, 2011, the Space Shuttle Orbiter Atlantis did a 360-degree pitch - a flip end-over-end - so astronauts on the space station could inspect it for damage to the heat tiles. I've sped the video up by 4X so the maneuver can be seen more easily. Preliminary results are that the tiles checked out OK. You can see the Multi-Purpose Logistics Module "Raffaello" in the payload bay, too, the final component to be put in place by Atlantis.I have more details on my blog: http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/badastronomy/2011/07/11/atlantis-goes-head-over-heels/Credit: NASAOriginal: http://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/videogallery/index.html?media_id=100556101
