NASA's SDO sees a comet streak across the face of the Sun!

NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory caught a comet passing directly in front of the Sun, the first time this has ever been seen. This is not a perspective effect: the comet really is just above the Sun's surface, and presumably evaporated shortly after these images were taken.I recommend watching it at 720p (HD) at least. This happened on July 5/6 2011. The detector sees in the extreme ultraviolet, well outside the human eye's range.Credit: NASA/SDOOriginal: http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/sunearth/news/comet-streaks-sun.html
